Steve Bruce has complete confidence in his Wigan squad as they battle for Premiership survival. Bruce is not worried about suggestions that he may be in the firing line if Wigan are relegated.

“We played an 11 versus 11 match in training the other day when we were doing a bit of shape work,” Bruce told the Evening Post.



“Looking at some of the lads who weren’t in the first-team, Antoine Sibierski, Marcus Bent, Andreas Granqvist, Erik Hagen and Salomon Olembe, it made you realise there is some good competition in the squad.



“We have the nucleus of a decent squad and that has been evident by the way we have played since I came in.”
