Ruben Loftus-Cheek drops fresh update on his Chelsea future

England international Ruben Loftus-Cheek has admitted that he may seek a potential exit from Chelsea during the summer, should he fail to receive assurances over regular first-team football.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The 22-year-old has managed just six Premier League starts since graduating through the Blues ranks and he is supposedly eyeing a new challenge elsewhere, although it could only be on a temporary basis.

Speaking in a press conference, Loftus-Cheek stressed that it is essential for him to play as much as he can and this may witness him pursue another loan spell away from Stamford Bridge.

"That's the key for me next season regarding where I end up: I want to play. I want to play as much as I can. And even this past season I didn't play as much as I would have liked, because of the injuries and stuff, so I still feel I need a proper season of playing, wherever it is," he said.

Loftus-Cheek had a good season with Crystal Palace last term despite being injured for around four months and he is currently with the England national side at the summer World Cup.

The Blues graduate only made a substitute appearance in the 2-1 win over Tunisia but he could start from the off against Panama with Dele Alli struggling with a thigh problem.
