  • The 29-year-old has been a consistent performer for the Blaugrana over the past six seasons but there has been doubts raised over his future with his contract expiring in the summer of 2020.

Despite this, Alba has insisted that he does not see himself leaving the Spanish champions, though the final decision over his future would only be taken by the club.

"I'm very happy at Barca. If it depended on me, I would stay at Barcelona my whole life," he told Sport. "But it doesn't depend only on me, it's also what the club wants."

Alba is presently with the Spain national team at the summer World Cup and he has featured in their opening two group stage games versus Portugal and Iran respectively.
