Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a move for experienced centre-back Leonardo Bonucci, who is presently in the ranks of AC Milan.
The Italy international joined the Rossoneri from Juventus last summer and helped them to a sixth place finish during his debut Serie A campaign.
However, his future remains uncertain amid the club's two-season European ban and Gazzetta dello Sport claims that he could seek fresh pastures elsewhere.
It is added that United are among the leading clubs who are keeping a close watch on his proceedings with manager Jose Mourinho keen on recruiting an experienced centre-half for his squad.
United finished the previous campaign on a good note with 81 points achieved through the season but there were still 19 points behind champions Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Mourinho also experienced a rare trophyless season with the team losing out to Chelsea in the FA Cup final. Eden Hazard netted the sole goal of the game via the penalty spot.
