Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly indicated their desire to sell Toby Alderweireld with the Belgium international reluctant to pen a new contract.
The 29-year-old had been the club's first-choice centre-back alongside Jan Vertonghen until last season where Davinson Sanchez took over his starting role.
As such, there has been plenty of speculation where his future could lie next season and Spurs have now highlighted that they could part ways with the former Southampton loanee.
Alderweireld presently has a £25m release clause which would activate at the final year of his contract next year and Spurs are keen to avoid this situation by selling him in advance.
Premier League rivals Manchester United have previously been put off by Spurs' £75m price tag for the Belgian but this valuation could come down in the coming weeks with Spurs keen to do business of their own.
Just like last summer, Spurs have remained relatively quiet in the transfer window but this could change with Pochettino eyeing a new centre-back, holding midfielder and a centre-forward.
