Villarreal midfielder Denis Cheryshev has reportedly caught the eye of Everton as they to bolster their ranks before the August 9 transfer deadline.
The Toffees have been rather quiet this summer with just one signing in the form of Richarlison but there is expected to be some activity in the coming weeks.
Both Lucas Digne and Yerry Mina have been tipped to join the Toffees from Barcelona of late and according to Marca, the club are now planning to lodge a potential move for another La Liga player.
Cheryshev has not quite lived up to his expectations over the years but the Toffees are said to be mulling over an approach after watching the midfielder shine for Russia at the recent World Cup.
Everton have endured a mixed pre-season where they have witnessed a few shocking results but Marco Silva will be hoping to get the team on the right track before the season opener at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
