Chelsea are reportedly planning a late approach to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon. The France international was earlier backed to secure a switch to Liverpool but the move fell through at the final hurdle amid the Reds having concerns over his injury record.
Since then, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has suggested that the attacker could stay put with the French outfit but according to France Football, Fekir could still leave Les Gones before the transfer window closes.
The Blues are scheduled to face Lyon in their final pre-season friendly at Stamford Bridge but Fekir is unlikely to be involved after only returning to training on Monday following his World Cup exploits.
Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has previously indicated that the club may recruit a midfielder before the transfer deadline and Fekir appears to have emerged as their prime target after having excelled with his performances for Les Gones last term.
He contributed 23 goals and eight assists for Lyon last term as they secured their return to the Champions League. He recently made six substitute appearances for France en route to their World Cup triumph.
