Guardiola speaks on De Bruyne injury

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has said that his side will miss attacking midfielder Kevin De Bruyne who is injured.

  • The Belgian international was was injured in training earlier this week, and it has been confirmed that he will be out of action for up to three months.

    Speaking ahead of his side's Premier League clash with Huddersfield Town, Guardiola said, Sky Sports report: "He will be a big miss like last season was with Benjamin Mendy – last season Kevin was outstanding and of course you never want it, it is part of the game."

    The former Chelsea winger was City's best player in the Premier League last season, scoring 8 and providing a whopping 16 assists. He was among the PFA team of the year for last season and was outstanding for Belgium at the World Cup in Russia.

    He could be replaced by Bernardo Silva or former Leicester City player Riyad Mahrez. City will be facing Huddersfield on the back of a 2-0 win over Arsenal in the opening weekend of the 2018/19 Premier League season.
