Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has said that new manager Unai Emery follows a similar philosophy to Arsene Wenger in terms of the style of play.
The north London club have made a poor start to the season with back-to-back defeats to Manchester City and Chelsea but there have been a few positives with regards to the opportunities created.
In a report covered by Sky Sports News, Mkhitaryan said that Emery does not differ much from Wenger in terms of tactics, though the former has tried to present a balance between defence and attack.
"Emery kept the philosophy of Wenger but is building something new on it. He knows he can give something different to this club, like the balance between attack and defence. It's not easy but I think he's doing it in the right way," he said.
One of the highlights of Emery's gameplay has been the instruction to play from the back and so far, things have gone pleasantly with no mistakes leading into goals.
Despite this, the defence has been found wanting with five goals conceded in the opening two goals and Emery will be hoping for a better showing against West Ham United this weekend.
