Talented attacker Jack Grealish has decided to sign a new deal with boyhood club Aston Villa, having turned down the advances of Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur this summer. Grealish has agreed a new five year contract with the Villans.
Grealish had an impressive campaign last season and the club have decided to take up their option on a new contract for the player, deciding to pay the youngster a whopping £100,000 a week to stay at Villa Park.
"Securing the long-term future of Jack, a player we believe will play a pivotal role in leading Aston Villa back to where it belongs, is fantastic news for everybody associated with our club," Villa CEO Christian Purslow told the club's website.
The 23-year-old had been a long term target for Tottenham, with Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino having sent his scouts to monitor the youngster on five different occasions last season.
It is understood that there is a minimum fee release clause in Grealish's contract worth an estimated 25 million GBP and that also includes a big club release clause.
