Manchester United staff fear Jose Mourinho sack

30 September 2018 - 19:02

Manchester United's backroom staff are reportedly fearful that Jose Mourinho could be sacked by the end of the week amid the club's poor start to the season.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Red Devils are already out of contention for League Cup glory following their shock defeat at the hands of Derby County and they have since endured further disappointment after suffering a third league defeat at West Ham United.

According to The Mail, the hierarchy are said to be assessing the situation after witnessing the club's worst start to a Premier League season in 28 years, and the United staff believe Mourinho is on the brink of being sacked.

Mourinho is said to have a strained relationship with a number of United players since the season started and most recently, he was been involved in a heated training argument with Paul Pogba.

Aside from the Frenchman, the Portuguese is also said to have targeted Alexis Sanchez with public criticism in the presence of his teammates before the West Ham clash where he was dropped.
