Arbeloa: we must attack

Arbeloa: we must attack

11 March 2008 - 07:56

Spanish defender Alvaro Arbeloa feels that Liverpool must attack if they are to hang on to their 2-0 lead from the first leg victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League.

  • Chelsea want to sign Lyon star to replace Jadon Sancho
  • Arsenal want to bring Aymeric Laporte back to England

  • "If we score a goal in Italy, I'm sure the game will be over because I cannot believe Inter will score four goals in the same game,” said Arbeloa.

"I am sure Liverpool will not go to defend in the San Siro as that would be a serious mistake that could cost us a place in the Champions League.

"If we play with our heads and stay calm in Milan we should be able to get through this qualifying round.

"It is normal that Inter will try to put pressure on us from the first minute, but Liverpool is experienced enough to cope with that challenge.

"2-0 is an excellent result from the first encounter at Anfield. It will be a different game in Milan, but we play with an advantage from the first leg and Milan will have to take the game to us. The key will be our defence."
