Manchester City have deployed a scout to monitor the progress of Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek. The forward is wanted as a backup to Sergio Aguero, and could move to the Premier League in a reported 35 million euro transfer.
The 23-year-old Polish striker, who has been in incredible form so far this season in Serie A, scoring 9 goals in 7 games, has been at the top of Manchester City's transfer wish list and has only just recently forced his way into Poland's international squad.
Prior to moving to Genoa, Piatek played for Lubin and Cracovia but his form in Serie A is what has really caught the eye. Surprisingly, Piatek had been included in Poland's 35 man squad for the 2018 World Cup but was not a member of the final team that would go on to play in Russia.
It is understood that City are going to compete with AC Milan and Spanish giants Valencia to snap up Piatek but are confident a deal can be agreed in the January and that the Cityzens will sign and seal a deal for the striker when the transfer window reopens.
