Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Juventus manager Max Allegri regarding the possibility of succeeding Jose Mourinho at the helm.
United have gone through a poor start to the season which has seen them drop 11 points from their opening eight league matches and this has increased the pressure on the shoulders of Mourinho.
According to Calciomercato, the Red Devils are already planning for the future without Mourinho and Allegri has been contacted regarding the head coach position with the club.
Allegri has previously indicated that he has no plans of leaving Juventus in the near future and the recent signing of Cristiano Ronaldo suggests that the Old Lady board has placed the confidence on him to stay for the long-term.
The former AC Milan boss has been with the Turin giants since the summer of 2014 and he has guided them to the Serie A crown in each of the previous four seasons.
United, on the other hand, have failed to win the Premier League since the 2012/13 season and that wait may extend for another campaign based on their poor start this term.
