Barcelona not in race to sign Neymar

Barcelona return not on the cards for Neymar

Barcelona not in race to sign Neymar

Neymar will not be returning to his former club Barcelona after the club's vice-president rejected talk of a surprise return to the Nou Camp for the Brazilian international. The Paris St Germain star is rumoured to be unhappy in France and looking for a move elsewhere.

  • Neymar enjoyed four trophy-laden years with Barca before deciding to make a move to Ligue 1 with PSG.

When asked if Barca would be interested in signing former player Neymar, vice-president Jordi Cardoner laughed off talk of a return to the club: "No-one on the Barca board has talked about the possibility of bringing back Neymar, right now we can't give an answer because no-one has even mentioned it.

"He was the one who left, it would be different if we hadn't believed him and now we wanted to bring him back, but that's not the case. If we did want to sign him then the board would have to discuss it but until now no-one has talked about it."

Neymar moved to Paris St Germain for a world record transfer fee.
