Manchester City are reportedly risking the prospect of offloading Raheem Sterling next summer after refusing to bow to the player's wage demands.
The Citizens have been locked in contract talks with the 23-year-old over the past year but so far, they have yet to find a breakthrough over an extension beyond June 2020.
According to The Mirror, the Citizens are currently unwilling to sanction the £300,000-a-week package Sterling is after, which would put him on par with Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero as the club's highest earners.
It is added that the Mancunian giants could be tempted to sanction his departure at the end of the season, should his contract situation continue to remain the same.
City are currently said to have placed a £100m price tag on the player's ahead and they are worried that his valuation may reduce further, if he is allowed to enter the final year of his club contract.
