Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has dismissed the possibility of him taking charge of Real Madrid, who are currently on the look out for a new head coach.

  • The European champions recently sacked Julen Lopetegui after a run of three straight league defeats and Wenger has since been among those linked with the vacancy.

However, speaking to TalkSPORT during the launch of former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein's 'Twinning Project', the French tactician stressed that he does not want to return to management until the turn of the year.

"Look, I am not the Real Madrid manager, I am here today to support David Dein," he said. "Overall I don't know what I will do next year, but I will be back in football and back in sport. Where? I don't know, but only in the New Year."

Wenger has already ruled out the prospect of returning to England with any other club but the veteran could still remain in Europe with AC Milan deemed among the front-runners to sign him.

Former Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis is expected to take charge of a similar role with the Rossoneri in December and reports have claimed that there could be a reunion on the cards with Wenger.
