Sadio Mane addresses Liverpool contract situation

05 November 2018 - 15:06

Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane has highlighted that he is solely focused on the progress on the playing field with his representative taking care of the contract negotiations.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Reds are deemed to have opened up contract discussions with Mane during the backend of the previous season but so far, the club have yet to find a breakthrough in terms of a new contract.

At present, Mane has just over two years remaining on his existing deal but speaking to The Liverpool Echo, he has indicated that he is not overly concerned by the contract situation.

"I am more focused on the games, things like contracts I leave with my agent. I am happy and concentrating on giving my best for my teammates, my manager and the fans," he said.

Mane joined the Reds from Southampton during the summer of 2016 and he has since contributed 40 goals for the Merseyside giants across all competitions.

He has been touted for a potential move to Real Madrid in the past but the European champions now seem more interested in signing Eden Hazard from Chelsea.
