Crystal Palace could make a January move for Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck as they look to ease their struggles in front of goal, according to the Sun.
It reports that the Eagles are prepared to table a £10 million offer for Welbeck, who has struggled for first-team time this season. His Arsenal contract runs out in the summer, with no new terms having yet been offered, and that has alerted Palace boss Roy Hodgson.
Hodgson's Gunners counterpart Unai Emery "is happy for Welbeck to remain part of his Arsenal squad for the rest of the season," but Arsenal will listen to offers "because they are reluctant to allow him to leave for nothing in the summer."
Welbeck hasn’t been able to institute himself as a fan favorite at Emirates despite scoring some vital goals through his Arsenal career. The evergreen presence of Aubameyang and revival of goal machine Alexandre Lacazatte has made matters worse for Welback and pushed him deep down the pecking order. Despite that, Welbeck is a player of immense promise with a bright tomorrow.
Crystal Palace need to off-load some pressure from the shoulders of Wilfred Zaha as he continues to be the supreme source of goals at Selhurst Park. A partnership of Zaha and Welbeck will be handy upfront and the fact they had some time together at United will only help them to channelize their chemistry.
