Roma rule out Ramsey move?

Roma chief dismisses Aaron Ramsey swap link

11 November 2018 - 20:45

Roma sporting director Monchi has dismissed suggestions that his side may look into a winter swap deal involving Aaron Ramsey which may witness Patrik Schick head to the Emirates on a short-term loan.

  • Chelsea urged to sign Man City star on free transfer
  • Chelsea squad want Xabi Alonso as manager
  • Ramsey presently has just eight months remaining on his Gunners deal and recent reports have suggested that the club have no plans of extending his contract further.

Amidst this, the Giallorossi have recently been linked with a probable swap move for Ramsey in January with Schick going the other way on a short-term loan for the campaign.

However, speaking to Gianluca di Marzio, Monchi has dismissed the speculation by stressing that Schick may not push for a temporary challenge this winter, he said: "Schick? We have confidence in him, he won't leave on loan."

Arsenal are currently on the desperate search for a new marksman for the remainder of the campaign after witnessing Danny Welbeck suffer a serious ankle injury on Europa League duty.
