Jose Mourinho prepared to unleash Diogo Dalot

17 November 2018 - 11:45

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho could be prepared to offer summer signing Diogo Dalot with an extended run of matches following the international break.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • The 19-year-old joined the Red Devils from Porto during the summer transfer window and he has since been used on just two occasions with Mourinho wary of any setback following his return from a long-term knee injury.

However, according to The Manchester Evening News, the Portugal Under-21 international is now nearing full fitness and Mourinho is finally prepared to offer him a regular run with the first-team.

Dalot, who can feature on either side of the central defence, has come against Young Boys and Derby County in the Champions League and League Cup respectively this term.

He has previously been earmarked as a potential replacement for Antonio Valencia in the right-back position but so far, Ashley Young has made the position his own with the club-captain struggling with his performances.
