Chelsea confirm contract agreement with French star

23 November 2018 - 20:09

Chelsea have confirmed that French midfielder N'Golo Kante has signed a new long-term deal to keep him at the club until the summer of 2023.

  • Chelsea agree personal terms with Adam Wharton
  • Chelsea planning £40m bid to sign West Ham star
  • The France international has been one of the Blues' best performers over the past 30 months and he has now penned a contract extension to sway away potential interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain.

"I'm happy to extend my time with Chelsea, it has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come. Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about," he told the club's official website.

Kante initially made his switch to the Premier League with Leicester City in the summer of 2015 and he thereafter played a key role in the centre of the park as they went on to secure a historic English crown.

Thereafter, the Frenchman was prised away by the Blues for a reported fee of around &pound30m and he has since continued winning silverware with another Premier League title and the FA Cup to boost.

Kante has been ever-present for Maurizio Sarri in the Premier League this term and he is widely expected to start when the Blues face Tottenham Hotspur on the road tomorrow.
