Chelsea agree loan deal for Argentine striker?

Chelsea are reportedly close to securing their first winter signing with Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain fancied to make the move from AC Milan.

  • The 31-year-old only joined the Rossoneri on a two-year loan from Juventus earlier in the summer but he has since struggled to produce consistent performances with just six goals in the Serie A.

Due to this, there has already been speculation that he is unsettled with the San Siro outfit and The Sun reports that the Blues are close to wrapping up a temporary loan move for the Argentine.

It is added that the Rossoneri are unlikely to terminate Higuain's temporary contract but they have rather accepted a loan swap involving Alvaro Morata heading in the opposite direction.

Higuain has previously featured under Sarri for one season at ex-club Napoli and the pair have since maintained a fond relationship despite the nature of the striker's exit from the Stadio San Paolo two years ago.
