Spain international Ander Herrera is reportedly prepared to commit his long-term future to Manchester United following fruitful talks with the club's hierarchy.

  • Chelsea offered chance to sign Rafael Leao
  • Arsenal planning two signings before transfer deadline
  • The 29-year-old had been in-and-out of the starting XI under the guidance of Jose Mourinho and it appeared that he could leave United on a Bosman when his contract expires in the summer.

However, his situation has improved with the Portuguese's sacking and he is currently regarded as one of the first names on the teamsheet under caretaker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils have ramped up contract discussions amid the improved form of the midfielder and they are likely to push through a three-year in the near future.

United have shown a keen intent in keeping hold of the core of the squad and they have recently rewarded Anthony MartialPhil JonesChris Smalling and Ashley Young with contract extensions.

Similarly to Herrera, the Mancunian giants are in negotiations with goalkeeper David de Gea but they have yet to accept to the Spaniard's demands for a £350,000-a-week salary.
