Jurgen Klopp updates on Roberto Firminos injury

Klopp confirms injury concern for Firmino

Jurgen Klopp updates on Roberto Firmino's injury

24 February 2019 - 19:54

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has indicated that Roberto Firmino has sustained an ankle problem, though the extent of the injury has yet to be assessed.

  • Chelsea manager on Reece James before Man Utd game
  • Two injured Arsenal stars to return vs Man City?
  • The Brazil international sustained the damage during the first half of the goalless league draw against Manchester United and he was subbed off despite wanting to carry on with the game.

Following the match, Klopp confirmed that Firmino has sustained a damage on his right ankle but the same needs to be analysed to find out the extent, he said: “Unfortunately I have no clue (how bad it is) but it was something with the ankle."

Firmino has been nearly ever-present for the Premier League duties this term but he could potentially be sidelined following the latest injury, given he was spotted walking with crutches after the league encounter at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Liverpool could not take advantage of United's injury concerns during the course of the game but they have still managed to jump to the top of the standings ahead of Manchester City by one point after the stalemate.
