Chelsea boss Avram Grant has revealed that he would still be Roman Abramovich's friend even if the Russian sacked him. There have been whispers that the Israeli coach is heading for the Chelsea exit door if the club fail to lift a trophy this season.
"We don't bring the friendship to the club," he said. "We are good friends. But not even one time when we have spoken about the team have we brought the friendship to the club.
"It's totally separate. It's not difficult. You have to do your job. If he sacks me, I think yes [he'll still be my friend].
"When I got the job, all my concern was to make Chelsea better, to follow the vision of the club. Roman Abramovich and the board are certain about what they believe for the vision of the club. I've done what I think we need to do to go to a different way."
