Manchester United are reportedly planning to make a double move for Juventus' Joao Cancelo and Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly in the summer.
The Red Devils have recently prioritised the need for a new centre-back for next season, but they could also pursue a right-sided defender with Antonio Valencia tipped to leave on a free when his contract expires in June.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, United are prepared to test Napoli's resolve with a club-record £95m bid for Koulibaly, who has been long linked with a Premier League move.
Meanwhile, Cancelo is another player, who has caught the attention of United scouts and the club could be prepared to pay as much as £52m to lure him from the Bianconeri.
United have vastly improved on their defensive performances since the temporary appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but there remain loopholes at the back with the occasional blemishes.
Victor Lindelof has cemented his spot at the heart of the backline but the other central defensive position remains up for grabs with Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones yet to cement the role.
