Arsenal are considered favourites to secure the services of Suso from AC Milan with Monchi due to be appointed as the club's technical director in the next few weeks.
The Spain international has been closely tracked by Gunners scouts since the turn of the year and the club could make a formal approach to sign him when the transfer window reopens.
According to Tuttosport, the likes of Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in signing Suso in the summer but the Gunners could leapfrog their rivals with the presence of Monchi in their ranks.
Monchi had previously tried to recruit Suso during his time at AS Roma and it is suggested that he could re-establish his contacts with the player's representatives, once he becomes the technical director with the Gunners.
Suso is currently not the first-choice to strengthen the wider positions in the summer with Unai Emery said to hold a keen interest in luring Yannick Carrasco from Dalian Yifang after a failed loan approach in January.
