Liverpool have reportedly enquired over the possibility of signing Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar when the transfer window reopens at the end of the campaign.
The Frenchman has built his reputation with a regular role at the heart of Les Gones' and his showing has previously earned him praise from Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola.
According to French outlet Le 10 Sport, the Reds are currently making a big push to pursue a midfielder, who can add more creativity from the centre of the park next term.
It is added that Aouar has been identified as the prime target, although a deal remains far from straightforward with Les Gones not actively looking into the sale of the 20-year-old midfielder.
Aouar has more than four years remaining on his current deal with the French giants. The France Under-21 international has made 32 appearances in Ligue 1 this term where he has contributed seven goals and four assists.
