Chelsea playing hardball over Hazard sale

Real Madrid fail with two bids for Chelsea star?

08 May 2019 - 09:12

Chelsea are said to have snubbed two offers from Real Madrid for the services of Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The outgoing European champions have been heavily linked with Hazard for the past few seasons and his chances of leaving Chelsea have increased this summer with his contract expiring in 13 months' time.

A recent report suggested that Hazard is ready to hand in a transfer request to push through a move to the Bernabeu, but The Mirror claims that the Blues are prepared to continue their fight to keep hold of the Belgian.

The west London side are understood to have already turned down a couple of bids from Los Blancos and they are supposedly holding out for more than £100m to sanction the attacker's sale.

Hazard has enjoyed his best-ever campaign in terms of contribution this season and he has bagged 16 goals and 15 assists in the Premier League alone for the Blues.

Still, Hazard has remained non-committal over his future at the club and there are suggestions that he will eventually part ways with the side unless a contract extension is agreed.
