Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly begun discussions with Real Madrid over a potential move to sign Marco Asensio this summer.

The north London side have not added any player in the past two transfer windows but they are likely to sort out the same with a spending spree this summer.

According to AS, Asensio has been earmarked as one of Mauricio Pochettino's prime targets and the north London club have already made contact with Los Blancos regarding the attacker's availability.

The same publication has revealed that Los Blancos have no intention to part ways with the Spaniard but Spurs are still optimistic of pushing through a deal during the transfer window.

Los Blancos are currently said to hold a keen interest in signing Christian Eriksen from Spurs and the Premier League giants could propose a potential exchange deal between the sides.

Eriksen has just 13 months remaining on his current deal with Spurs and so far, he has shown no indication that he would be prepared to commit his long-term future to the club.
