Christian Eriksen demands Tottenham exit

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has told the club that he is planning a move this summer, with a transfer to Spain his likely destination. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are long-term admirers of the Danish international, but it is understood German giants Bayern Munich are also in the race to sign the coveted playmaker.

The unsettled Eriksen has refused to sign a new contract at White Hart Lane, leaving Tottenham club chairman Daniel Levy frustrated that he can not tie the player down to a fresh contract and now facing the likely reality that the midfielder is leaving the club.

With Eriksen's deal approaching expiry, Spurs will accept a bid of around £70 million for the Danish international, and the majority of that transfer will be performance-related.

Eriksen has been a loyal servant to Spurs since his arrival from Ajax, but reportedly decided after Tottenham's failure to win the Champions League last season that it would be time for a fresh challenge and move elsewhere. Eriksen is pursuing a contract worth in excess of 300,000 euros per week.
