Danilo to swap Manchester for Leicester?

Leicester City eye move for Man City defender Danilo

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is hoping to sign Man City defender Danilo this summer, but only if a transfer deal that would see Harry Maguire leave the Foxes for Man Utd is completed. Danilo played 34 times for City since his arrival at the Etihad in 2017 and it is understood that manager Pep Guardiola is ready to sell the defender for a fee of around £28 million.

  • With Leicester City ready to sell Harry Maguire for a mega-money £70 million, the Foxes are ready to splash some of those funds in a like-for-like replacement in the acquistion of Danilo.

The defender, who has played previously for Santos, Porto and Real Madrid, is highly-rated at City but has found first-team opportunities somewhat limited since his arrival at the club.

Brendan Rodgers is confident that Danilo would represent great value for money and would also be a suitable replacement for Maguire.

City will recoup a large chunk of the £26.5 million that they spent to sign Danilo and it is understood that City themselves already have a replacement lined up for the Brazilian centre-back should he leave the club.
