Juventus enter the race to sign Manchester United striker

06 July 2019 - 13:38

Juventus have reportedly earmarked Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku as a potential target for the ongoing transfer window.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Lukaku's future has been a regular discussion point in the past few weeks with Inter Milan said to hold a keen interest in landing his signature.

However, the Nerazzurri have so far failed to pursue his services amid United's &pound75m valuation and Sky Italia claims that the Bianconeri have joined the pursuit.

The same publication suggests that the Serie A holders may be using the interest as a ploy to force Inter's hand over Mauro Icardi, who has been fancied to make the move to Turin.

Maurizio Sarri's side are one of the teams in the running to pursue Icardi from San Siro and the Argentine's sale could free up additional funds for the Nerazzurri to purchase Lukaku.

Juventus are currently with adequate options in the final third but there are suggestions that Mario Mandzukic could be replaced with a younger recruit before the transfer window closes.
