PSG sign Ajax wonderkid Mitchel Bakker

Paris St Germain have moved quickly to sign one of Ajax Amsterdam's top wonderkids, with 19-year-old Mitchel Bakker putting pen to paper on a long-term contract in the French capital. The 19-year-old defender, who is comfortable playing in central or on the right side of defence, comes to France with a lofty reputation having been groomed in the Ajax youth team.

Bakker, who has played for the Netherlands under-19 side, has also made 2 first-team appearances for Ajax in the KNVB Cup. 

Bakker moves to Paris St Germain on a free transfer as the player's contract had expired in the Netherlands.

Whilst the young defender is not expected to challenge for a place in the PSG starting XI within the next year, it is planned for the centre-back to force his way in to Thomas Tuchel's squad by next season 2020/21.

Bakker has signed a six year contract at the Parisien giants, earning a reported 15,000 euros per week with his new club.
