West Ham have switched their attention to the signing of Bournemouth and England international striker Callum Wilson, after missing out on numerous transfer targets. The Hammers are short of a striker and are ready to pay up to £50 million to secure a move for Wilson.
Having missed out on a deal for Uruguayan striker Maxi Gomez, the Hammers are ready to sign Wilson as an alternative. Despite West Ham ready to pay the release clause of Maxi Gomez, a deal fell through at the last minute after the forward agreed terms with Spanish side Valencia, who will be in the Champions League this upcoming season.
Wilson, 27, scored 53 goals in 136 games for Bournemouth, last season scoring 14 goals in 30 games for the Cherries.
It is West Ham's top priority to sign a striker this summer, having let Andy Carroll leave the club on a free transfer and with Marko Arnautovic set to transfer to China in a deal worth approximately £50 million.
Wilson is ready to move elsewhere despite being happy with Eddie Howe's club.
