Arsenal are reportedly considering a move to sign Senegalese defender Pape Abou Cisse from Olympiacos this summer.

  • London club want to sign Chelsea defender

  • The 23-year-old has been with the Greek outfit since the summer of 2017 and in the past two seasons, he has amassed 46 appearances for the side in all competitions.

According to 90min, the Gunners are on the cusp of signing William Saliba from Saint-Etienne but they are likely to follow up with another central defensive purchase, considering the former will be immediately loaned back to the French outfit.

It is added that the north London side are confident of finalising a deal of around £10m for Cisse, who was recently part of the Senegal side, which lost to Algeria in the final of the African Cup of Nations.

Arsenal's urge to reinforce the central defensive department has increased in the past few days with skipper Laurent Koscielny understood to be determined to pursue a fresh challenge away from the club this summer.
