Manchester United reject James Rodriguez plus cash bid for Paul Pogba

United reject Real Madrid's proposal for Pogba

Manchester United reject James Rodriguez plus cash bid for Paul Pogba

05 August 2019 - 09:17

Manchester United have reportedly turned down Real Madrid's latest player-plus-cash deal offer to secure the signature of French midfielder Paul Pogba.

  • Chelsea urged to sign Man City star on free transfer
  • Chelsea squad want Xabi Alonso as manager

  • The Frenchman indicated earlier in the summer that he wanted a fresh challenge elsewhere and he has since been linked with a move to the Bernabeu.

According to The Times, Los Blancos are said to have offered Rodriguez plus £27.4m to sign the France international but the offer has been swiftly rejected by the Red Devils.

Pogba has been valued at around £150m by the Red Devils but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recently suggested that he is confident of keeping the midfielder at Old Trafford.

Los Blancos have already spent nearly £250m on five separate signings and their spending spree is likely to go above £300m with the anticipated arrival of Donny van de Beek.

As such, the Spanish giants don't seem in a position to match Pogba's valuation at the moment unless they are able to recoup sufficient funds from player sales in the next few days.

Los Blancos are permitted to make signings until September 2 but it is quite clear that the Red Devils won't entertain any offers for Pogba beyond the Premier League transfer deadline on Thursday.
