Barcelona attacker Philippe Coutinho has reportedly turned down the prospect of joining Tottenham Hotspur on loan before tomorrow's transfer deadline.
A recent report from Sky Sports News indicated that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino had made a personal phone call to the playmaker and that could be sufficient in luring the attacker on a 12-month loan deal.
However, The Mirror has now dismissed the story by stating that the 27-year-old has no plans of returning to the Premier League to work under Pochettino, whom he played under at Espanyol.
Coutinho's starting place at the Camp Nou has come under question following the summer arrival of Antoine Griezmann but he nonetheless seems content to fight for his spot rather than pushing for a departure.
Meanwhile, Spurs are still on the hunt for a new attacking midfielder and they are understood to have made a fresh bid to secure the services of Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis.
