Arsenal are still looking at the possibility of sanctioning the departures of Shkodran Mustafi and Mohamed Elneny with the transfer window still open across the top European leagues.
The duo have been heavily linked with exits from the north London giants this summer, but so far, there have not been any suitable offers for either of those players.
As such, it appeared that manager Unai Emery may stick with the pair following the Premier League transfer deadline, but Evening Standard claims that may not be the case.
Mustafi has come for widespread criticism from the fans following an average 2018/19 season, which cost the Gunners dearly in the quest to make the top four of the Premier League.
Elneny, on the other hand, has barely made the starting lineup in the league under Emery, and he has supposedly been deemed surplus to requirements ahead of the new campaign.
Arsenal start their season with an away league game at Newcastle United.
