Serbian midfielder Sergej Milikovic-Savic has indicated that the story regarding his potential move to Manchester United has 'finished' and he is concentrating on the start of the new league campaign with Lazio.
The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils during the English transfer window and there were suggestions that he could replace Paul Pogba, who was much fancied to join Real Madrid.
However, that has not been the case with Pogba still in the ranks of United and speaking to Espreso, he has suggested that there was nothing in the gossip which linked him with a switch to Old Trafford.
"The Premier League transfer window is shut, so the Manchester United story is finished. I wasn't irritated by everything that was written in the papers, because my mind was concentrated on preparing for the new season in the best possible way," he said.
Milinkovic-Savic has been associated with a move to the Red Devils in each of the previous two summer transfer windows but on both occasions, the player himself has happened to dismiss the speculation.
Still, Manchester United are understood to hold an interest in landing his signature and they could make an attempt to sign him, should Pogba part ways with the club in the near future.
