Zinedine Zidane drops update on Paul Pogba speculation

Zidane dismisses Pogba link?

Zinedine Zidane drops update on Paul Pogba speculation

16 August 2019 - 17:30

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has insisted that he is content with the current crop of players when asked about a potential late move for Manchester United's Paul Pogba.

  • Chelsea urged to sign Man City star on free transfer
  • Chelsea squad want Xabi Alonso as manager
  • The France international has been heavily linked with the Madrid giants since the beginning of the summer after he admitted that he would prefer a new challenge.

This stance has since been iterated by brother Mathias, who has said that it is not impossible for Los Blancos to afford the midfielder, but Zidane seems satisfied with the current set of players.

Speaking ahead of the season opener, Zidane said that he is comfortable with the makeup of the first-team squad and he won't speak on the Pogba speculation out of respect for the Red Devils.

"Paul Pogba is a Manchester United player and we must respect this. I'm happy with my players," he said ahead of the La Liga opener against Celta Vigo on Saturday.

Pogba is currently valued at £170m by United and that price remains around £50m less than what Los Blancos are prepared to offer for the 2018 World Cup winner.
