Ole Gunnar Solskjaer backs attacker to come good for Manchester United

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has backed Alexis Sanchez to come good for the Red Devils amid the speculation regarding his future.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The Chile international is currently in training after a hamstring concern but there are suggestions that he may not get regular minutes with the club this term.

As such, there has been the gossip that he could part ways with the side before the close of the European transfer window but Solskjaer has happened to refute the same by stressing the attacker's importance.

Speaking ahead of the Wolves game, Solskjaer admitted that the club are short of forward line options after the departure of Romelu Lukaku and he fancies Sanchez to play a meaningful role through the campaign.

“We don't have the biggest forward line in [terms of] numbers, so Alexis might end up playing a lot more games than you expect. Because we expect him to come good at this club. He's quality," he told MUTV.

Sanchez is currently training aside from his teammates after recently returning to the side and Solkskjaer has suggested that he may make a comeback at the beginning of next month.
