Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Spanish duo Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad.
The Spaniard has made nearly 350 appearances with the Blues but he has struggled for form during the opening stages of the current campaign.
This has already led to suggestions that youngster Reece James could replace Azpilicueta, once he returns to full fitness, and that may push the latter towards the exit door.
According to The Sun, Azpilicueta's situation has caught the attention of both Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad, who are eyeing an experienced addition in the right-back spot.
The Blues are currently under a transfer ban until the summer of 2020 but they could do business as early as January, should they manage to reduce the embargo through their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
If this is the case, Azpilicueta could see himself head for an exit with the west London giants having the option to bolster the right-back position at the midway stage of the season.
