Arsenal are reportedly confident of agreeing a new contract with striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, although there are concerns with regards to the salary package for the Gabon international.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The 30-year-old has been a revelation for the Gunners since his move from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018 and he has amassed 44 goals from 69 appearances for the club to date.

According to Football.London, the north London side are positive with regards to the contract extension for Aubameyang whose existing deal expires at the end of next season.

However, there are still concerns that he may demand a salary package close to the £350,000-a-week which Mesut Ozil commands as the highest earner at the club.

The former Germany international has been far from impressive since penning the bumper contract last year and the hierarchy are hoping to avoid a similar instance with Aubameyang.

Aubameyang's strike partner Alexandre Lacazette has also been touted to pen a new contract but talks with the Frenchman could be delayed until the end of the campaign.
