Chelsea have reportedly received a positive injury update on defender Emerson ahead of the Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend.
The Italy international picked up a minor muscular injury during his participation in the Euro 2020 qualifier against Finland and it was initially indicated that he could be sidelined for sometime.
However, speaking after the Azzurri's 2-1 win over Finland, manager Roberto Mancini assured that there is nothing serious in terms of the fitness of Emerson, he said: "It was nothing serious, he stopped to ensure it didn’t get any worse."
The former Roma man has been the first-choice on the left side of the defence this term under manager Frank Lampard with Marcos Alonso dropping to the substitutes' bench.
He has not been able to contribute in the form of either goals or assists but has generally been consistent with his performances on both ends of the field without making any blatant errors to catch the fans' attention.
