Gary Neville reveals his prediction for Chelsea vs Liverpool

21 September 2019 - 14:27

Manchester United legend-turned-pundit Gary Neville believes Chelsea will struggle to cope with Liverpool's frontline during Sunday's Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.

  • Chelsea to accept less than £40m for attacker?
  • Confirmed Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Crystal Palace, Joao Pedro starts

  • The Blues have made a mixed beginning to the current season and they have accumulated just eight points from the opening five games where the defence has looked vulnerable.

Speaking ahead of the weekend round of fixtures, Neville feels the Blues can't handle the front three of the Reds despite putting up a strong performance against them in the European Super Cup earlier last month.

"I don’t know any team that can handle that front three, they are absolutely magnificent. From a Chelsea point of view, they are going to struggle, they are going to need to score goals. Let’s see what happens. It’s a really intriguing game but I think Liverpool will win on Sunday," he told Sky Sports.

N'Golo Kante was the prime catalyst towards the impressive display in Istanbul in August, but the midfielder remains doubtful for tomorrow's clash after just returning to regular training following an ankle sprain.

Elsewhere, Mason Mount remains another major doubt for the encounter as he has yet to recover from the ankle injury picked up after a rough challenge from Valencia's Francis Coquelin in the Champions League.
