Kieran Tierney ready for Premier League challenge

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has said that he is ready to take up the Premier League challenge after putting in a consistent run of performances in the Cup competitions.

  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The Scotland international has featured exclusively in the League Cup and Euorpa League this term and he has already made an impression with a couple of assists from the left side of the backline.

Speaking to BT Sport, Tierney said that he is pleased to make a successful comeback from injury and he is looking forward to developing into a better player with regular minutes on the field.

"When you come [to a new side] you don't want to be injured, but everyone has been magic with me. The manager, the coaches and the other players. I've came a long way, I'm delighted to be back fit but I've still got a way to come. I'm developing as player and as a person," he told.

Sead Kolasinac has been the regular choice on the left side of the defence this term and manager Unai Emery has been reluctant to make the change despite Tierney being the better allround player.

The Gunners are scheduled to entertain Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday and Kolasinac seems the likelier choice to start after Tierney's 90 minutes against Vitoria in midweek.
