Man Utd legend Roy Keane thinks that a move for Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen would be ill-advised, believing that the Danish international would add no further quality to the club's ranks. Eriksen's deal at Spurs ends at the end of this season and the player can leave the club on a free transfer.
Tottenham want to cash in as soon as possible on Eriksen to avoid that, and Man Utd have been tipped for a £20 million move come January.
Roy Keane believes that the club should turn their attentions elsewhere however, as Eriksen would not add any additional quality to the club's side.
“Not if I were the Manchester United manager,” Keane told Sky Sports when asked if he thinks the Red Devils should sign Eriksen. “I think he will get a move, he’s on a free.
“But I don’t think he’d improve those teams and that’s the key for a club like Manchester United who are trying to close the gap.
“He won’t make Man United better, but having said that, Man United bought Fred.”
