Man United, Tottenham enter the race to sign Real Madrid attacker

08 November 2019 - 16:01

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested in landing the signature of James Rodriguez from Real Madrid in January.

  • Chelsea target expected to sign for Real Madrid
  • Arsenal ace can leave for just £5m this summer

  • Rodriguez returned to Los Blancos after a two-year loan with Bayern Munich but he has failed to establish himself with just five starts in all competitions.

According to El Desmarque, the Bernabeu giants are likely to part ways with Rodriguez in the New Year and he could be the subject of interest from the English top-flight.

United are on the look out for an attacking addition at the turn of the year after struggling to score more than once in most of their Premier League games this term.

Spurs, meanwhile, are bracing for the potential departure of Christian Eriksen and Rodriguez could act as a direct replacement for the former Ajax graduate.

Rodriguez was previously offered to United in a player-plus-cash deal for Paul Pogba over the summer but the package was snubbed with them holding no ambition of selling their midfielder.
